If animals didn’t have a consciousness would we be more indifferent to them and their plight? Does that explain why people are so apathetic when it comes to environmental issues? Because there aren’t any forms or figures to empathize with? Plagued with these questions I pondered what a personified environment would see, looking down upon the current destruction of the ozone, the threat posed to Earth’s ecosystems, and the further threat to the great order of the universe. My artwork depicts how in a world often disrupted by conflict and discourse, the beauty of nature stands in resilience. In the midst of chaos, the harmony and tranquility of nature serves as a reminder of the enduring strength of humanity. Through this piece, I aim to evoke a sense of peace and empowerment.
