Both pieces were taken on at the January 21, 2017 Women’s March in Washington, DC, the day after the Inauguration. The crowd size more than doubled the projections of organizers. Nationwide, as many as 5 million people participated, with more outside the United States. As in nearly all protests, each participant brought their own issues and demands, implicitly or explicitly, as did these two, who welcomed my camera and solidarity.
Jim Ross jumped into creative pursuits in 2015 after rewarding career in public health research. With graduate degree from Howard University, in eight years he’s published nonfiction, fiction, poetry, photography, hybrid, interviews, and plays in nearly 200 journals on five continents.
