The ambition was, through a concrete visual poem, to portray the people of Ukraine, now having to either flee their country, or stay on and defend it. There is an uneven distribution of gender and age, reflecting the fact that more men had to stay (weren’t allowed to leave, or chose to stay) and more women and children left.
