Everyone throughout their lives are shaped through the connection they make, whether it be from their parents, friends, strangers they meet. Regardless of the nature of that influence, all these various connections mix together to form one’s identity. I wanted to show in this surreal self-portrait illustration, a visual representation of how my identity forms through others’ influence.

My name is Jenny Huh. I am a junior attending Maranatha High School in Pasadena, LA. My art skills are to make photographs that involve the natural, creative, and magnificent aspect of the world, or through my painting skills develop surreal illustrative pieces that send powerful and interesting messages. I developed my art skills in various ways by learning art techniques like drawing and painting and computer software tools like photoshop, and composition through taking photos.
