At the Edge of the Waves
Through this artwork, I aimed to highlight the harsh reality faced by refugees forced to cross unfamiliar seas, as well as the courageous volunteers who reach out to help them. By depicting hands reaching out amidst the uncertainty of the waves, I wanted to emphasize the presence of hope and human solidarity, even within moments of despair. The central image of volunteers carefully passing a child symbolizes our interconnectedness and shared responsibility within a community. My intention was to encourage viewers to reflect on issues that are often overlooked or forgotten. I hope this painting inspires not only awareness but also genuine empathy and meaningful action.
