Artist’s Statement:
“A Recent Development” Man and dog sit outside a major department store along the main drag in Edinborough. He looks up at no one.
“My Stuff Goes With Me” Around the corner from a main road in Montreal, it truly seemed as if everything had come along.
“Some People Call Him The Mayor” Always wearing the said Madras shirt, he walked the town, visited cafes, and slept outside churches in a beautiful town in southernmost France.
In other words, three different countries. And no USA whatsoever.
Jim Ross jumped into creative pursuits in 2015 after rewarding career in public health research. With graduate degree from Howard University, in ten years he’s published nonfiction, fiction, poetry, photography, hybrid, interviews, and plays in 200+ journals on five continents. Photo publications include Barnstorm, Blue Mesa, Burningword, Feral, Invisible City, Orion, Phoebe, Stonecoast, Wordpeace Photo-essays include DASH, Kestrel, Litro, NWW, Pilgrimage, Sweet, Typehouse. His most recent interview, published by Terrain.org, was conducted with an enviornmentally-focused artist. A Best of the Net nominee in Nonfiction and Art, he also wrote/acted in a one-act play and appeared in a documentary limited series broadcast internationally. Jim’s family splits time between city and mountains.
