Humanity’s Cry for Peace
War, genocide, brutality,
How peculiar humans must be.
Divisions crafted, manufactured,
Nationalism leaves us captured.
Under the brand of a flag’s trivial color,
Our blood’s legacy grows ever duller.
We fight for glory, honor, and dominion,
But our hearts are tainted with cowardly rebellion.
Continuing on this prehistoric display,
We march towards demolition every day.
Perpetuating our humanity’s cost,
We seem to be eternally lost.
Boasting our nuclear weapons,
The advancement of artillery and arms beckons
But what about extending our arms to peace?
To the harmony that secures our human lease.
We crave wealth, land, and revolution in vain
We divide our soil, letting spilled blood reign
Paving profuse tensions, turmoil, and terror
Humanity makes such an unbecoming fatal error
How can we tolerate so much suffering?
Families ripped apart, screams muffling,
The call for a savior, letting peace brew,
“Save us all, though we once used to be brave too!”
Now we admire the destruction of civilians,
Expecting medallions, yet succumbing to oblivion.
Waiting for a victory, but at what cost?
For everything we win is everything we’ve lost.
We claim we’re divided in flesh and in bone,
Presiding on greed and malevolence’s throne.
We fight our own selves, blazoning insanity,
Believing we are heroes, yet chained by banality.
Brainwashed with demolition, perceived for smarts,
Where are our bravest, our once forsaken lionhearts?
Creatures so advanced yet we can’t find a cure,
In this plague of warfare, leaving humanity’s legacy obscure.
